Can I transfer my current domain over to eHost?
You can transfer your website to be hosted at eHost. However, eHost doesn’t currently accept domain name transfers, so you would need to keep your domain registered where it is, or transfer to a registrar like NameCheap, eNom, GoDaddy, or similar. Then you can simply set the nameserver settings, which you can find on the ‘Transfer Domains’ tab under the ‘Domains’ page, to point to your eHost account.
I want to transfer my website to eHost. Can they do it for me?
eHost does not currently have a service to transfer your site to their hosting. You’ll need to transfer your website or hire someone to do it for you.
On a Website Builder account, can I edit source code of pages?
Editing of source code is not supported by the Website Builder, as this platform is intended for people who want an easy, drag and drop solution to building a website. Intermediate and advanced users should choose cPanel Hosting instead of Website Builder.
On a Website Builder account, do I get FTP access?
FTP is not supported on Website Builder accounts. On the Website Builder, all aspects of your website are controlled through the website builder itself. No external access is necessary. If you need FTP access for any reason, please choose the cPanel Hosting option instead of Website Builder.
I already have a domain registered elsewhere. Can I use that with eHost?
Yes. Yes, all you need to do is follow the ‘Already Own a Domain?’ steps on the Domains page.
I want to try eHost's Website Builder. What if I sign up and change my mind about it? Can I switch to cPanel Hosting instead?
Yes. Simply contact their support by chat, email or phone and tell them you want to switch your account from Website Builder to cPanel Hosting, and they will fully refund your original purchase. Then you can login to you eHost account, click “create new website” and choose the cPanel Hosting account. For more detailed instructions, see my
quick guide to switching from Website Builder to cPanel Hosting on eHost (opens in a new window).

Does all or any eHost plans support the use of .swf (Flash files) and windows or mac video files.
I’m pretty sure there would only be a use for those on cPanel Hosting where you have control over the code. I don’t recommend site builders anyway
Can I transfer my ehost domain name to someone else? (Using ehost hosting or other hosting?)
Yes, you can do that. I actually keep most of my domains at NameCheap.com no matter where I host my sites.
I want to have website to sell on line , can you give me Idea how much it cost to build from you and any thing can help me to my own?
Hi, I think you may want to look into Shopify because it’s an all in one platform and you don’t need to hire a developer.
What is the length of the “initial term” — 1 month, 1 year, etc.?
Hi Bev, I checked and here’s how it breaks down:
If you sign up for a month-to-month plan, the 50% discount ends after the first month.
If you sign up for a 1 year plan, the 50% discount ends after the first year.
EDIT/UPDATE: eHost has removed their month-to-month payment option, so now you have to pay at least 1 year up front, and 3 years up front to get the advertised $2.75/mo pricing. If you’re looking to a great hosting provider with a month-to-month option, check out HostGator and be sure that if you sign up, you use promo code BUILDPATH at checkout to save 60% (way cheaper than the standard pricing)
I’m a wyswyg person – you’ve captured “Drag & Drop” on your template tour. Any chance we could see it in action? This will be a deciding factor for me. Thank you.
Debbie, great question – I’ll make another video showing some of that in action!
I read this is a U.S. company. Is payment in Canadian dollars with no exchange rate issues?
I imagine it would display prices in CAD when you get to the sign up page.
